Something left unsaid

A and B are old friends. They face a task neither can finish alone. Start with “You kept it?” Let each speaker want something different. Neither may name what they are afraid of.

The Dialogue Generator offers opening lines and short exchanges for two fictional speakers. Free mode gives a prewritten first-line prompt without an account. Optional AI mode uses a relationship, situation and objective from your brief to create a labeled exchange. Writers review the voices, subtext and consistency before using it. Google sign-in is required for AI access and saved projects; a project can keep selected facts and outline versions for later work.

Random First-Line Dialogue Prompts

“You kept it?” Give one speaker hope and the other embarrassment.

“That is not the address I gave you.” Let the mistake reveal something neither wants to discuss.

“We can leave when you tell me the truth.” Decide whether the speaker can afford to keep that promise.

Dialogue Between Two Characters

Give each speaker a different immediate objective. One wants an answer; the other wants more time. Use AI customization for a short exchange, adding the relationship and situation so the voices can respond to a specific pressure.

Dialogue Writing Tips

Cut greetings unless the greeting itself creates tension. Let a reply answer the emotional question instead of the literal one. Use a physical action to change the balance of the conversation, and read the exchange aloud to catch identical rhythms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this write a finished story?

The free tool gives a writing seed. AI customization shapes that seed; a story project can develop it into a scene outline. This version does not generate complete chapters.

Can I use it for free without signing up?

Yes. Random prompts, the prompt library, copying and browser saves are free and need no account. Google sign-in gives each verified account 6 AI credits once. A custom prompt costs 1 credit, an outline 5 and a revision 3. Remaining credits are shown before generation; failed or safety-blocked requests return the reserved cost.

What gets saved when I develop an idea?

Browser-saved prompt cards stay in that browser. After Google sign-in, story projects, briefs, locked facts and outline versions are saved to your account. Sign in with the same Google account to return to them. Project reading, fact editing and text export do not use AI credits. Export work you want to keep independently.

Can I change the details of a prompt?

Yes. Treat a free seed as a starting point and edit it yourself, or add constraints in AI mode. A project lets you lock facts before asking for a revised outline.

What content can I request?

Non-explicit creative writing, including romance, suspense and atmospheric horror. AI requests and results are checked for explicit sexual content, sexual content involving minors, graphic gore, targeted abuse and instructions for serious real-world harm.
